Jacksonville with all the gang

Never having been to such a large training event for the United Methodist Church, I wasn't really quite sure what to expect. After listening to a speaker regarding world health issues, I decided that he was right: we are a Wesleyan Epidemic.  "We are the missing asset in the global health movement. We are the intervention for global health."

In order to fully realize the importance of that statement, there is a revival of efforts to improve UM hospitals.  A specific example is the UM hospital in Nadiri, Zimbabwe, oneof the few functioning hospitals in that country.  The cholera initiative of the PA UMC -Nadiri connnection was noted.  PA mobilized a water project to insure clean water for the hospital.  Into non-functioning countries--failed states--the church offers a cup of clean water.  Back to basics indeed!
